Errata

Nobody likes errors in their patterns and we at Inside Crochet are no exception. However, mistakes do happen and any errors that we are aware of in our patterns are available here.

If you believe you have found an error in a pattern that does not appear here please email one of the team with as much information as you can so we can deal with your query as quickly and efficiently as possible.

For the 2nd “ribbon” on the front the instructions are to “rep row 10; rep row 12; rep row 2”. This should read – “rep row 10; rep row 2; rep row 12”

Issue 3 – August/September 2009

The correct finished dimensions are:

Waist: 28”(32”, 36”, 40”, 44”, 48”)
Hips: 36”(40”, 44”, 48”, 52”, 56”)
Hem: 46”(50”, 54”, 58”, 62”, 66”)

The stitch diagram published in Inside Crochet is given for working flat rather than in the round, and there is a mistake in row 7. If you have a copy of the magazine, please email kirakdesigns@gmail.com to get a new diagram.

Stroll Jacket by Rebecca Velasquez

Back:
The final line should read:

Masonry Jacket by Kira Dulaney

The correct collar instructions are:
Using smaller hook, make 78(82, 86, 92, 96) ch.
Row 1 (RS): 1HBhtr in 3rd ch from hook, 1HBhtr into each ch to end, turn. 76(80, 84, 90, 94) sts.
Row 2: 2 ch (counts as 1htr), 1HBhtr into 2nd st and each st to end, turn.
Row 3: rep Row 2
Row 4 (Buttonhole Row): 2 ch (counts as 1htr), 1HBhtr into 2nd st, 1HBhtr into next st, ch 3, skip 3 sts, 1HBhtr into next st and each st to end, turn.
Rows 5-11: rep Row 2
Row 12 (Buttonhole Row): rep Row 4
Rows 13-15: rep Row 2
Row 16: Change to larger hook and create double-layer collar as follows: fold work so that the edge of the starting chain lines up with edge of the row just finished, with the right side out. Slip stitch to first chain to join and work 1 row HBhtr as for Row 2, inserting hook through each st and the corresponding chain st at the same time.

There was also a small typo in the magazine at the beginning of the sleeve, where there is a 9 instead of the ( in the second sentance so it reads ” … 1HBhtr in each of next 2 93, 3, 3, 4) sts” instead of ” … next 2 (3, 3, 3, 4) sts”.

Dragon Gauntlets by Aoibhe Ni Shuilleabhain

A line of instruction was missing. Here are the corrected instructions:

Right Hand Thumbhole:
The omission was the last 2 ch and tr (not a dtr) at the end of R11. These keep the line straight, and give you something to work from for the next row or dtr fans back (see chart). The thumbhole is on a slight diagonal.

Left hand thumbhole:
Similar to above – please see the new chart (to be added).

Anytime Tunic by Dora Ohrenstein

There were a number of errors in the printed instructions:

Handy Helpers by Irene Strange

Watch out for the Stripy Hat Rnd12-15 -
the stitch count is right, but numbers in brackets got muddled up – it should read:

Rnd 12: Change to C1, (2dc in first st, 1dc in ea next 10 st) 2 times – 24sts.
Rnd 13: Change to MC, (2dc in first st, 1dc in ea next 11 st) 2 times – 26sts.

Esmee Cardigan by Sarah Francis

The correct back sizing for XS, M and XL was omitted from the pattern.

Row 39: Repeat Row 2, but work from * to * 6 (9, 11) times.

Size XS only:

Size XL only:
Rows 40 to 47: Repeat Rows 36 to 39 twice.
Rows 48 and 49: Repeat Rows 36 and 37. Fasten off.

NB: There are size and fit issues with this cardigan that I’m still working on. I’d recommend waiting until I can properly work on the cardigan (probably in July or August, as I am working on final university exams until then) so that you can have a cardigan that works and fits. If you’re desperate to make it before then, then I would recommend looking at my notes for Esmée #2: http://www.ravelry.com/projects/lowenek/esmee-cardigan-2 . I made and documented a few changes, others -which are referred to more cryptically – I am still trying to work out. Please message me on Ravelry if you have any problems, or would like a chart for any part of the cardigan.

  1. Is there an error in the latest issue – it is the first time I have purchased your magazine. I am attempting the swirly cardigan and stage 6 doesn’t fit. Help?

  2. Martina shawl issue 26 page 9
I am having trouble with row 17, I can’t get it 2 work with the stitches I have from the previous row?! Any help very gratefully received. Thank you.

    • Hi Jane,
I’m sorry you’re having trouble. One of the team will look into this for you and get back to you as soon as possible.
      Kind regards,
      Adrian

  3. I have just grabbed your April Issue (28) as my first intro to your magazine (I’m a very novice crocheter), but I’m having trouble on page 66 locating how many balls of Natura Just Cotton is needed- does the Nancy pattern only use 1 x 50g / 155m to crochet the whole garment? Many thanks for clarifying for me and apologies if I have overlooked it somewhere.

    Kind regards

    • Hi Tara,
If you look on page 69 there is a measurements table which specifies the balls, metres and yards needed for each size.
      For your reference: 5(6:7:8:8) balls

I hope that helps and be sure to send in photos of your finished projects, we’d love to see how you get on!

      Kind regards,
      Adrian

  4. Is there an error for the Nancy slipover in edition 28? I cannot make the back pattern work for the smallest size. Thanks Tasmin

  5. Thank you for printing charts for the Baby Sneakers in Issue 16. I found the punctuation in the text instructions confusing because the repeats instructions did not match the chart of the Sole (Fig 1); they were “off by one” errors.
There were discrepancies also between the written instructions and the chart.
    In the sole for example:
Rnds 4 & 5: written instructions call for 2 ch at the beginning yet the chart shows 1 ch
Rnd 4, line 2 of par. 4 dc in written instructions – chart shows 5 dc.
Rnd 4: the repeat of (1 htr, 2 htr in nxt st) is repeated 6 times in the chart, yet the written instructions need clarification. As they currently read, one crochets 1 htr, 2 htr in next st, then the instruction calls for a repeat of this 6 times which I interpreted as 6 times more which gives an incorrect no. of 7 repeats. Perhaps one could change the “rep from * 6 times” to “rep from * 5 times” OR add brackets thus “rep (1 htr, 2 htr in nxt st) 6 times”. The latter option is more in keeing with the chart.
Likewise in Rnds 4, 5 & 6: change “twice” to “once” or use brackets.
Rnd 6, final instruction before sl st: written instructions call for 2 htr in each of last 2 sts, yet chart shows 1 htr in each of the last 2 sts. perhap one needs to remove “in each of last 2 sts” from that instruction or change to “1 htr in each of last 2 sts”
That’s as far as I have got in the pattern so far. What I had hoped to be a quick easy project took a lot longer than expected because because of incorrect stitch counts and having to unpick. It was tricky having the chart on a separate page, it is hard to keep one’s place when having to turn the page for cross reference.
Thank goodness for charts which enable one to recognise patterns and get a visual notion of how things will look.
